An established and highly respected British electronics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to support ongoing product and regulatory compliance across its consumer electronics range. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring products, processes, and company operations comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards across multiple global markets. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and product development teams, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance standards throughout the product lifecycle.

The role will involve overseeing product compliance across a range of international regulations including CE, UKCA, FCC, WEEE, RoHS, REACH, RCM, PSE, and KCL standards. You will also support tariff and preferential origin compliance through analysis of BOM parts and trade agreements, while helping maintain GDPR compliance across the business.

You will coordinate product testing, certification processes, and technical documentation, monitor regulatory developments, and advise stakeholders on emerging compliance requirements. The position will also involve leading internal audits, coordinating with external certification bodies, maintaining compliance policies and procedures, and supporting training initiatives across the business.

Working collaboratively with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, you will help integrate compliance considerations into product development activities. You will also investigate compliance issues, implement corrective actions, maintain technical files and risk assessments, liaise with regulators and external advisors, and oversee the drafting of product user manuals and associated technical documentation.

Applicants should have previous experience within a compliance or regulatory role in an electronics or engineering environment, together with a strong understanding of international compliance frameworks and product certification processes. Experience working with testing laboratories, notified bodies, or certification agencies would be highly beneficial. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret and draft technical documentation.
