Are you an experienced carer who specialises in supporting individuals with complex needs? Do you want to grow in your career with dedicated support behind you? Do you have a fun and friendly character?

A very rare opportunity has opened up within one of our complex care teams, supporting a wonderful individual at home. We are looking for support for a young lady aged 14 years old. This young lady has a syndrome called CTNNB1. It is not recognised much in the UK, although there are more children getting diagnosed. Our client loves messy sensory play. She enjoys activities that involve tactile experiences such as water play, sand, and gloop. She loves music, singing, dancing and also swimming. Our client thrives on repetition and routine, showing determination in mastering modelled behaviours. She is generally sociable, though she can sometimes appear shy. When she chooses to share her abilities, she does so with great enthusiasm and energy. Predictable routines and calm environments are important to her.

Full training and support, classroom sessions and competencies will be provided to give you all of the knowledge you need to effectively carry out your role with confidence.

Hours Available: Every other weekend on either a Saturday or Sunday for 6 hours and extra cover during school holidays. There will also be the opportunity to cover more shifts within this package and the potential to be involved in other complex care packages too.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting with personal care tasks
  • Administering medication
  • Complex care tasks
  • Preparing & Encouraging Fluids & Nutrition
  • Assisting with activities of daily living, companionship & outings
  • Maintaining skin integrity
  • Domestic duties & shopping trips where appropriate

  • Flexible availability to include every-other weekend is essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A full UK driver's licence & business insurance
  • Kind & Empathetic
  • Trustworthy & Reliable
  • Proactive & Positive Nature
  • Professional Employment References

  • Blue light card
  • Refer a friend scheme
  • You will be paid the National Minimum Wage for all attended training sessions and shadow shifts
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity and adoption schemes
  • Continued professional development to support you & your career
  • Paid time off to volunteer and give back to the charities and causes that matter to you
  • Employee Assistance Line - available 24/7 and fully confidential for our staff
  • Support from your local branch team and out-of-hours support

In line with CQC & Care Inspectorate regulations, we require and will undertake enhanced DBS/PVG, right to work, reference and employment history checks in line with government guidelines for this role and safer recruitment best practice. You may be asked to provide your employment details through HMRC. Whilst we endeavour to keep the recruitment process as short as possible, due to the nature of these important checks, there may be extensions to timelines.
