We are recruiting an experienced Van Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our busy commercial vehicle workshop in the Hounslow / Heathrow area. You will be supporting a large customer base of well-known companies operating extensive vehicle fleets, providing a varied, stable, and consistent workload within a fast-paced workshop environment. This role is ideal for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of light commercial vehicles to a high standard while working efficiently to meet workshop deadlines.

  • Sprinters
  • Long wheelbase vehicles
  • Transits
  • All makes and models of commercial vans

Responsibilities

  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnostics and fault finding using diagnostic equipment
  • Mechanical and electrical repairs
  • MOT preparation and inspections
  • Completing job cards and service sheets accurately
  • Using electronic tablets and workshop systems
  • Taking photographs of damaged or defective parts for warranty purposes
  • Ensuring vehicles are presented to a high standard after repair
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety within the workshop
  • Liaising with the Workshop Foreman and management to prioritise workload
  • Attending occasional local breakdowns when required
  • Ensuring all work is completed within allocated times
  • Maintaining accurate timesheets and good timekeeping

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Van Technician, LCV Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
  • Experience working on multiple makes and models of vans
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and reliability
  • Full UK driving licence preferred (less than 6 points desirable)
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds desirable
  • Ability to provide a 5-year work history to obtain an enhanced criminal records check for Heathrow airside access

Desirable

  • HGV licence preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience in a busy commercial workshop environment
