We are currently recruiting for a Packhouse Operative to join a busy and growing food production company based on the outskirts of Colchester. This is a hands-on role working within a fast-paced packhouse environment, helping with the packing, grading, and preparation of products ready for dispatch. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering long-term work and the chance to join a well-established business with a supportive team environment.

Previous production, warehouse, or food manufacturing experience would be beneficial, although full training will be provided for reliable candidates with a good attitude towards work.

Duties of the Packhouse Operative will include:

  • Working on a fast-paced packing line
  • Grading and checking products for quality
  • Packing finished products ready for dispatch
  • Palletising stock and preparing orders
  • Maintaining high levels of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Following food safety and production procedures
  • Assisting with general production and packhouse duties where required

The ideal Packhouse Operative candidate:

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or food production experience is advantageous
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Good attention to detail
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Own transport is essential due to the rural location
  • Flexible to work weekends and overtime when required

Shift Pattern & Pay:

  • 4 on / 4 off day shifts 7:00am - 6:00pm (slightly reduced hours at weekends)
  • £13.45 per hour
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates
  • Free on-site parking
  • Temp to perm opportunity
