Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for an experienced Hygiene Team Leader to join a busy food production company based on the outskirts of Colchester. Due to the location, own transport is essential.
This is a hands-on role where you will be leading a small hygiene team on shift, ensuring all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard while maintaining food safety and hygiene compliance across the factory.
Duties:- Leading and supporting a small team of hygiene operatives during shift
- Ensuring all cleaning schedules and hygiene tasks are completed correctly
- Carrying out deep cleaning of machinery and production areas
- Dismantling equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitation
- Monitoring hygiene standards across the site and maintaining compliance
- Completing hygiene records, paperwork and sign-off sheets accurately
- Ensuring safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals at all times
- Working closely with management to maintain high factory standards
- Supporting with staff cover and helping organise workloads across the team
- Previous experience within hygiene or food manufacturing and production cleaning
- Experience leading or supervising a small team
- Good understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures
- Reliable, hardworking and able to lead by example
- Good attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Own transport due to rural location
