Location: Outskirts of Colchester

Pay: 16.15 per hour

Hours: 6:00pm - 3:00am, 4 on / 4 off shift pattern

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Prime Appointments are currently recruiting for an experienced Hygiene Team Leader to join a busy food production company based on the outskirts of Colchester. Due to the location, own transport is essential.

This is a hands-on role where you will be leading a small hygiene team on shift, ensuring all cleaning duties are completed to a high standard while maintaining food safety and hygiene compliance across the factory.

Duties:
  • Leading and supporting a small team of hygiene operatives during shift
  • Ensuring all cleaning schedules and hygiene tasks are completed correctly
  • Carrying out deep cleaning of machinery and production areas
  • Dismantling equipment for thorough cleaning and sanitation
  • Monitoring hygiene standards across the site and maintaining compliance
  • Completing hygiene records, paperwork and sign-off sheets accurately
  • Ensuring safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals at all times
  • Working closely with management to maintain high factory standards
  • Supporting with staff cover and helping organise workloads across the team
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience within hygiene or food manufacturing and production cleaning
  • Experience leading or supervising a small team
  • Good understanding of Food Safety and Health & Safety procedures
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to lead by example
  • Good attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Own transport due to rural location
