Fitters Required - Coalville

Pay: Up to 15.00 per hour depending on experience

Temporary, temp-to-perm or permanent opportunities available

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 to 16:30
  • Friday: 07:30 to 12:30

I'm currently recruiting for multiple experienced Fitters to support an upcoming project with a busy and well-established manufacturing business based in Coalville. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical fitting experience who is confident working in an engineering, manufacturing or heavy machinery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical fitting of heavy machinery and equipment
  • Working within a production line environment
  • Reading and understanding bespoke engineering drawings
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Working with hydraulics and mechanical components
  • Working to tight tolerances, limits and fits
  • Supporting the safe movement of production parts
  • Meeting production targets while maintaining quality standards
  • Following health and safety guidelines at all times

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous mechanical fitting experience
  • Experience working with hydraulics
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, plant, machinery or heavy equipment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Good mechanical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong health and safety awareness

Experience with crushing equipment, screening equipment, plant machinery, agricultural machinery, construction equipment or similar heavy machinery would be a strong advantage. Experience operating overhead cranes or jib cranes would also be beneficial. An understanding of lean manufacturing principles or 5S would be advantageous but is not essential.
