Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting a well-established industrial manufacturer in the appointment of an experienced CNC Machinist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering environment operating advanced CNC machinery used in the turning and re‑dressing of critical production rolls. Working within a safety‑first culture, you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment is operated efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.
As CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of CNC machines within the Fabrication shop, helping to maintain production performance across a demanding heavy engineering environment. You will work closely with the wider operational team, responding proactively to process, quality and safety requirements while operating flexibly across the department.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Operating and supporting a range of CNC machining equipment
- Carrying out turning and re‑dressing activities to required quality standards
- Supporting continuous manufacturing operations by responding effectively to process issues and breakdowns
- Working safely in line with all site HS&E procedures and standards
- Participating in team activities including slinging and overhead crane operations
- Maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards across the workshop
- Operating flexibly within your area of competence, training and capability
- Working collaboratively under the direction of the Team Leader to support operational performance
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous machining experience gained within a commercial, manufacturing or heavy engineering environment. You will also demonstrate:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant machining discipline
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
- Strong CNC machining knowledge and practical workshop experience
- The ability to adapt to different machinery and control systems
- A flexible and proactive approach to work
- Strong awareness of health, safety and quality standards
- A willingness to learn, develop and contribute as part of a skilled engineering team
