Alternate 2 week shift pattern: 6am 2pm / 2pm 10pm

Location: Birmingham

We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join a fast‑paced precision engineering environment. You’ll set and run CNC machines to produce high‑quality components to strict tolerances.

CNC Setter/Operator Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC machines efficiently
  • Read engineering drawings and edit programs where required
  • Inspect parts using measuring equipment (CMM, micrometres, verniers)
  • Monitor machine performance and report faults
  • Support continuous improvement and quality standards
CNC Setter/Operator Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist and CNC setting/operating experience; any programming knowledge ideal
  • Knowledge of multi‑axis or 5‑axis machining; Mazak & Matsuura preferred
  • Experience with FANUC or Mazatrol controls (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high quality standards
  • High variety, low volume experience preferred
