Futures are looking to appoint a Service Engineer to join our clients growing team, supporting high precision 3 5 axis CNC machine tools across the UK and internationally. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in CNC machinery, precision engineering, and customer support to work with advanced machining technologies in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of high-specification CNC machine tools at customer sites worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Install and commission high precision 3 5 axis CNC machine tools at customer facilities.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, breakdown response, and repair activities.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and CNC control faults efficiently.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting both on-site and remotely.
- Calibrate and align machines to ensure optimal precision and performance.
- Support machine upgrades, retrofits, and software updates where required.
- Deliver customer training on machine operation and maintenance best practices.
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Work closely with internal engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures and company policies.
- Travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally as required.
- Proven experience servicing CNC machine tools, ideally 3 5 axis machining centres.
- Strong understanding of CNC controls such as Siemens, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Mazatrol.
- Excellent fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the UK and globally.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
