Are you a passionate Care Assistant looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a Care Assistant to work within the Adult Services based in the Clitheroe area.

Pay Rates: £12.71 - £16.87 per hour Umbrella rate

Information on the role: Successful candidates will be offered different shift patterns starting as ad hoc with potential to be added to the rota. Successful candidates must be over the age of 18 years old. The shifts would be for 08:30, 15:00/22:00 and some 22:00.

What you will be doing:

  • You will have to be confident participating in physical tasks such as washing, dressing, bathing and feeding clients, including those with special needs arising from physical or mental deterioration.
  • You will need to participate in social duties including talking and motivating clients, helping clients to maintain contact with family and community, assisting with shopping and organising group social activities.
  • You will need to assist in the creation of a supportive and homely atmosphere where clients can achieve maximum independence.
  • You will be co-operating with domestic staff to best meet the personal needs of the client.
  • You will be contributing to the establishment records, including support plans.
  • You will be escorting clients outside the establishment as required e.g. to the hospital, optician’s etc.
  • You will need to attend relevant training courses as agreed with the management staff.
  • You will need to assist with laundry duties and care of client items including emptying and cleaning commodes, making and changing beds and cleaning and tidying lockers.
  • You will be caring for dying and attending to the needs of the deceased person and their relatives.
  • You will be assisting management with the administration of medicine.

Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:

  • You will need to have experience or ability to demonstrate the competence to carry out the job.
  • You will need to have the ability to work without close supervision.
  • You will need to be able to complete tasks to required standards and deadlines.

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Direct Care or commitment to study to achieve the qualifications.
  • Have previous experience with working with adults & older people.
  • Have previous experience working in a residential setting.
  • Willing to work weekends and bank holidays.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training.
