We are seeking an experienced and motivated Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our professional workshop team in Portbury. In this role, you will work as part of an experienced team, ensuring vehicles are prepared and maintained to the highest standards for our customers. You will receive ongoing support and guidance from the Supervisor and Workshop Manager while contributing to an efficient and high-performing workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general servicing and maintenance of vehicles.
- Undertake tyre changing duties across a variety of vehicle types.
- Complete road and ramp testing, inspections, and assessments as required.
- Carry out repairs in line with approved methods to restore vehicles to their original condition.
- Plan and organise workloads effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within agreed deadlines while maintaining efficiency.
- Assist with general workshop duties as required.
- Diagnose faults on vehicles and undertake electrical diagnostics where necessary.
- Carry out warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Ensure all relevant documentation is completed accurately and company procedures are consistently followed.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
- Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) - essential.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to support and mentor junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise when required.
- A genuine passion for the motor industry and pride in delivering work to the highest standards.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions when required.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
