Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Customisation to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team delivering tailored design solutions for new and existing products within a leading product development environment in Clevedon. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and verifying electrical modules and sub-assemblies, ensuring high standards of quality, cost efficiency, and compliance with engineering requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop modules and sub-assemblies for new products in line with the Product Commercialisation Process (PCP)
- Verify designs through calculation, simulation, and/or testing to ensure compliance with requirements and standards
- Deliver detailed design outputs including models, drawings, design data, BOMs, and test data in line with TCF requirements
- Ensure all design work meets quality, cost, and timescale objectives
- Support integration of designs within wider multi-discipline engineering teams
- Maintain accurate and timely technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle
- Work to defined engineering standards and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience with industry background)
- Experience in product development and introduction (desirable)
- Knowledge of design for manufacture (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
- Experience working with engineering materials and manufacturing processes
- Strong 2D and 3D CAD skills (e.g. CATIA, AutoCAD, Visio or similar)
- Understanding of P&IDs and system schematics
- Strong delivery focus with ability to meet tight deadlines and project milestones
- Positive, resilient approach with ability to work under pressure
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to senior engineers and project teams
