A leading organisation is looking for a detail-driven Buyer to join its procurement team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for ensuring supplier performance across delivery, cost, and quality, while supporting smooth production flow within a fast-paced, technical environment.
Working closely with senior procurement colleagues, engineering, and supply chain teams, you'll play a key role in keeping materials moving, resolving supply issues quickly, and supporting continuous improvement across the supplier base.
Key Responsibilities- Raise and manage purchase orders through MRP and procurement systems
- Monitor system messages to expedite, defer, or cancel orders as required
- Issue RFQs, analyse supplier quotations, and set up replenishment profiles
- Manage supplier performance issues including delivery delays, quality rejects, and invoice queries
- Support resolution of production shortages and supply disruptions
- Identify and support cost-saving opportunities through benchmarking and process improvement
- CIPS Level 4 or equivalent (qualification or relevant experience)
- 2–3 years of procurement or supply chain experience
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Confident working in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment
- Able to build effective relationships with internal teams and external suppliers
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently
- Experience supporting NPI, outsourcing, or continuous improvement projects is advantageous
