The role involves operating Class 1 (C+E) vehicles within the waste management sector, transporting waste and recyclable materials safely and efficiently between sites. Drivers are responsible for completing daily vehicle checks, complying with driver hours and safety regulations, and delivering a professional service at all times.

  • Safely operate walking floor trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport waste to approved disposal and recycling sites
  • Plan and follow efficient routes to optimise driving time and fuel consumption
  • Carry out vehicle inspections, reporting any defects promptly
  • Secure waste loads correctly to prevent spillage, damage, or safety risks during transit
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including delivery notes, mileage, and vehicle maintenance records
  • Ensure full compliance with road traffic laws, health & safety regulations, and company policies
  • Communicate clearly with transport planners and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered on route

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Class 1 driving experience preferred
  • No more than 6 points on licence (no DD/DR/IN)
  • Reliable, professional attitude
