About the role

We’re growing our Work Winning team and seeking a Bid Writer to produce high-quality, customer-focused materials for major frameworks across the UK and Ireland. As a Bid Writer at Avove, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing new opportunities and renewing key frameworks. You’ll lead the development of persuasive, compliant and strategically aligned content across all stages of the bid process. This role demands agility, attention to detail and strong stakeholder engagement skills to deliver submissions that win and drive work growth. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by applying lessons learned, client feedback and AI tools to enhance bid quality and efficiency.

What will your day look like

  • Analyse client questions and map responses to requirements and scoring criteria.
  • Lead answer planning sessions with SMEs and bid teams to capture aligned content.
  • Embed tailored CVPs, win themes, and strategic messaging in bid responses.
  • Select, adapt, and update case studies to showcase capabilities and strengthen bids.
  • Write high-quality, customer-focused responses reflecting Avove’s values.
  • Collaborate closely with internal reviewers and teams to refine answers and maximise evaluation scores.
  • Ensure accuracy, professionalism, and consistency across all written materials.
  • Work with graphic designers to create visually consistent bid content.
  • Develop and maintain a central library of reusable, high-quality content and standardise templates for clarity.
  • Use feedback, reviews, automation, and AI tools to improve bid creation and address content gaps.

About you

  • Strong written communication skills with proven experience in bid writing and proposal development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all bid documentation and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor colleagues in bid writing best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines, particularly when developing high-quality proposals.
  • Proactive in managing personal workload and effectively delegating responsibilities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of bid activities.
