Our client Blackpool council is looking for a Children's Social Worker to join their Assessment & Support Team. Our Assessment and Support Teams undertake Child & Family Assessments, support children & families via Child in Need Plans on a short‑term basis and ensure partnership agencies offer ongoing Early Help Support. The teams also undertake S7 private family court proceedings, Section 47 child protection enquiries and support families to prepare for Initial Child Protection Conferences. At times the service commences Initial Care Proceedings to safeguard children in emergency situations and undertake joint assessments with Housing regarding young people who are homeless.
You will have the opportunity to develop trusting relationships with children and their families. Using our restorative and strength‑based co‑produced Blackpool Families Rock approach, we support families to have great outcomes and prevent children's needs from escalating. You will be supported to develop a relationship with your manager, have regular supervision, support from our Practice Development Team, excellent training opportunities and access to tools and resources to assist in your day‑to‑day work.
Our families, children and young people are at the heart of everything we do in Children's Services. In Blackpool, we believe children can achieve better outcomes when they are supported by their families and community and as a result we:
- Work 'with' families, not 'do things to them'.
- Are child focussed, but support the whole family via our strengths based approach.
- Build and nurture trusted relationships with children and families.
- Be consistent and do what we say we will do.
- Ensure that when formal intervention is required, we manage it at the lowest possible level.
- Support our workforce and challenge them to deliver a great service.
- Encourage our families and communities to be aspirational for themselves and each other.
- Respect difference in families and communities and ensure we are inclusive.
- Be transparent and objective in our decision making.
- Learn from what works and what does not work and keep developing our services to build on the things that deliver the right outcomes.
If you like the sound of this and are passionate, dedicated to making a change and ready for a challenge - you could be the candidate we are looking for.
Benefits of working with Remedy:
- A personal one‑one service from your highly experienced dedicated consultant.
