Our client Leicester City Council is looking for a Childcare Social Worker to join their Children in Need team.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with children and families where additional support is needed to improve wellbeing and safety.
  • Completes Child in Need assessments and develops support plans.
  • Identifies risks, strengths, and needs within families.
  • Provides direct support and intervention to children and parents.
  • Monitors children's development, safety, and welfare through regular visits.
  • Works to prevent family breakdown and reduce escalation to child protection.
  • Coordinates services and support from education, health, and community agencies.
  • Attends multi-agency meetings, Child in Need reviews, and planning meetings.
  • Maintains accurate case records and statutory documentation.
  • Builds positive relationships with children and families to promote change.
  • Safeguards children in line with legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Works collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
