Our client Leicester City Council is looking for a Childcare Social Worker to join their Children in Need team.
Responsibilities
- Works with children and families where additional support is needed to improve wellbeing and safety
- Completes Child in Need assessments and develops support plans
- Identifies risks, strengths, and needs within families
- Provides direct support and intervention to children and parents
- Monitors children's development, safety, and welfare through regular visits
- Works to prevent family breakdown and reduce escalation to child protection
- Coordinates services and support from education, health, and community agencies
- Attends multi-agency meetings, Child in Need reviews, and planning meetings
- Maintains accurate case records and statutory documentation
- Builds positive relationships with children and families to promote change
- Safeguards children in line with legislation, policies, and procedures
- Works collaboratively with professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people
