We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our Rail Infrastructure delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and safety-focused individual with proven rail experience to take a leading role in the delivery of multidisciplinary rail works within a live operational railway environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors and engineering teams, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.

The Role

As Site Agent, you will take ownership of site activities across rail infrastructure works, ensuring safe delivery while maintaining quality, programme, and commercial performance. You will work closely with Project Managers, CREs, Site Engineers, and client representatives to coordinate construction activities and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily delivery of rail infrastructure works on site.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials.
  • Ensure all works comply with Network Rail standards and safety requirements.
  • Lead site safety briefings, inspections, and compliance activities.
  • Monitor progress against programme and resolve site issues proactively.
  • Review RAMS, work packages, and construction documentation.
  • Support possession planning and delivery activities.
  • Maintain accurate site records, permits, and progress reporting.
  • Liaise with clients, Network Rail representatives, and internal delivery teams.
  • Supervise Site Engineers and operational teams.

About You

You will have a strong background delivering rail projects in operational railway environments and be confident managing fast-paced site activities during possessions and planned works.

Essential

  • Experience working as a Site Agent within the rail sector.
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and procedures.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary works.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and rail safety requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage site delivery independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • SMSTS.
  • PTS certification.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor.
  • NEC contract awareness.
  • First Aid qualification.
