Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teach both English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum.
- Use effective assessment for learning strategies to monitor pupil progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and literacy-rich classroom environment.
- Implement strong behaviour for learning approaches aligned with school policy.
- Support students with exam preparation, extended writing, and analytical skills.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental projects, and whole-school literacy initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or a relevant teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.
- Ability to deliver high-impact teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisation skills.
- Effective behaviour management and a student-centred approach.
- Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (preferred).
