HGV 1 Driver Required in Chepstow NP16 (Nights)
Pay: £19.00 - £24.00 per hour
Shift and schedule details are provided below.
Key tasks- Trunking
- Night shift starts between 18:00 and 22:00
- Weekend work Friday – Monday
- Long trunk runs with an average of 12 hours per day; up to 48 hours in 4 days
- Drivers must complete an assessment and induction before starting (paid after first week of working)
- Safely operate a truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment
- Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Proven experience as a truck driver or similar role
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of trucks and trailers
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
