An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Operative to join a fast-growing manufacturing business based in Cheltenham. This is a hands-on role within a supportive team environment, offering full training, long-term progression opportunities, and the chance to develop specialist manufacturing skills.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for preparing and producing specialist protective products used across a range of industries. Working from plans, drawings, and specifications, you’ll measure, cut, prepare, and quality-check materials to ensure products are completed accurately and to a high standard. This role would suit someone practical, reliable, and eager to learn within a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Measuring, marking, and cutting materials to specification
- Preparing shrink wrap covers and production kits
- Preparing materials for sewing machinists and further assembly
- Operating welding machinery and manufacturing equipment following training
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure accuracy and high standards
- Following drawings, plans, and production specifications
- Assisting with warehouse, handling, and stock movement duties
- Maintaining health & safety standards across the factory and warehouse
- Supporting the team to achieve production targets and deadlines
- Carrying out additional ad hoc warehouse and manufacturing duties as required
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience within manufacturing, production, assembly, or warehouse environments preferred
- Hands-on and practical with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using tools, machinery, and handling materials
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn new skills
- Able to follow instructions and work accurately from specifications
- Positive attitude with a strong team ethic
