The role is a dynamic opportunity to manage a high‑quality portfolio of trusts, oversee a growing team, and work with an excellent client base in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Remote/office hybrid working is available and the position is open to both full‑time and part‑time applicants.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a complex portfolio of domestic trusts and trust structures for a high‑calibre client base.
- Proactively manage, mentor and supervise a team of Trust Professionals, ensuring they gain exposure to varied work and progress their careers.
- Deliver and implement complex trust and estate planning advice, covering tax and trust law matters.
- Oversee and contribute to the preparation of annual trust accounts, tax returns and personal tax compliance.
- Calculate Inheritance Tax liabilities and oversee the preparation of IHT returns, liaising with HMRC as required.
- Monitor trust investment performance, prepare and review trustees’ investment policies, ensure effective financial management and oversee trust reporting.
- Participate in client meetings and liaise independently with clients, beneficiaries, banks, investment managers, valuers, and accountants.
- Experience in a similar Trust & Tax Manager position.
- Strong technical knowledge of trust accounting and related policies, plus tax experience and account preparation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to business needs and proactive problem‑solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills to build external relationships at all levels and with internal teams.
- Confidence as a manager or team leader, able to develop, support and guide team members.
- ACA, ACCA, CTA or STEP qualification is ideal.
