Overview: Management Accountant progression to Finance Manager – Remote / Office Hybrid – Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
Your new company: Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a rapidly growing services group across the UK & Europe to recruit a progressive Management Accountant based in their Cheltenham office. The position has a defined development plan to become a Finance Manager in a newly created role reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the supervision and development of a small accounting team.
- Prepare management accounts for multiple entities, including profit & loss and balance sheet processes, with variance analysis.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Own control accounts and support year‑end processes and related financial accounting duties.
- Act as a business partner with internal teams to support decision‑making and commercial performance.
- Participate in projects to continuously improve financial processes, reporting and controls.
Qualifications:
- Part‑qualified, finalist or newly qualified in ACCA, CIMA or ACA. Experience in a similar role is required.
- Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with a range of financial systems.
- Excellent communication skills for building internal and external relationships.
- Commercial curiosity, proactive, and keen to improve processes and reporting.
- Ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines.
- A strong problem‑solver, ready to work in a high‑growth, changing business.
- Experience within a multi‑entity group is advantageous but not essential.
