TeacherActive are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting in Chelmsford. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people who may display challenging behaviour and require additional emotional and behavioural support within education.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Be calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations
- Have strong behaviour management skills
- Be able to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Be committed to supporting pupils both academically and emotionally
- Ideally have experience within alternative provisions, PRUs, care, youth work, or support settings
The role:
- Full-time position
- Immediate start available
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Working closely with teaching staff to provide a positive learning environment
