About the Role
Our client is seeking experienced PSV/HGV Mechanical Fitters to join their engineering team based in Chelmsford. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and fully operational. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified engineers looking to develop their skills further within a supportive and progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs and servicing
- Identify the correct repair methods and required parts
- Perform routine maintenance and vehicle safety inspections
- Use diagnostic equipment and handheld data capture devices where applicable
- Attend roadside breakdowns and assist with vehicle recovery when required
- Carry out road testing to validate repairs and identify any further issues
About You
- NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance (essential)
- PSV or HGV experience preferred, but not essential
- Applications welcomed from ex-Forces personnel or engineers from other sectors
- Full UK driving licence required
- PCV licence desirable (training can be provided)
- Flexible and reliable with the ability to work shifts and weekends
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
