Qualified Nursery Practitioner
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £26,000 – £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Hours: 5 days per week between 8:00am – 6:00pm (flexible shift patterns)
TeacherActive is currently working with some fantastic nurseries across Chelmsford who are looking to recruit enthusiastic and qualified Nursery Practitioners to join their growing teams. This is an excellent opportunity for passionate childcare professionals who are looking to work within supportive nursery settings that offer ongoing training, career development, and clear progression routes. The successful candidate will be creative, trustworthy, energetic, and able to work effectively as part of a team to provide high‑quality early years education and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children’s learning and development through engaging play and activities
- Creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Following safeguarding and welfare procedures at all times
- Observing, monitoring, and recording children’s progress
- Assisting with daily nursery routines and maintaining high standards of care
- Working collaboratively with the nursery team to support children’s individual needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence
Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education
- Accepted qualifications include:
- NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner
- NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
- BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development
- Early Years Educator Qualification
- Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
- Knowledge of the EYFS Framework and safeguarding procedures
