Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end‑to‑end release lifecycle, from planning through to deployment and post‑release review.
- Ensure effective planning and coordination of releases across teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain delivery momentum by proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Ensure releases are aligned with business priorities and timelines.
Change and Release Management
- Own and manage the end‑to‑end release lifecycle, from planning through to deployment and post‑release review.
- Ensure effective planning and coordination of releases across teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain delivery momentum by proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Ensure releases are aligned with business priorities and timelines.
Agile & Lean Practices
- Promote and embed Agile and Lean methodologies across delivery teams.
- Coach and mentor team members on the effective use of Agile and Lean tools and techniques.
- Encourage continuous improvement and iterative delivery practices.
- Help teams remain focused on high‑value outcomes.
Team Leadership & Enablement
- Build, maintain, and support high‑performing delivery teams.
- Foster collaboration, motivation, and accountability within the team.
- Identify and remove impediments to enable smooth delivery.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across cross‑functional teams.
Stakeholder & Communication Management
- Act as a key interface between technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Communicate release plans, progress, risks, and issues clearly and effectively.
- Ensure transparency and alignment with business and delivery objectives.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Support commercial considerations related to delivery, ensuring value for money.
- Contribute to financial management activities, including budgeting, forecasting and tracking delivery costs.
- Ensure delivery aligns with contractual and commercial expectations.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Establish, maintain, and optimise release management processes.
- Ensure processes are practical, effective, and consistently applied.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across delivery practices.
Lifecycle & Planning
- Maintain a holistic lifecycle perspective, ensuring smooth transitions between stages of delivery.
- Lead release planning activities, balancing scope, time, and resources.
- Ensure dependencies across teams and systems are effectively managed.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Release Management, Delivery Management or similar roles.
- Proven knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage complex delivery environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Experience in financial and commercial management within delivery contexts.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to removing blockers.
