Overview
Grade: 4.3
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Nantgarw, Cardiff with UK and overseas travel. This role involves being away from home for 4‑6 weeks depending on the project and 4‑6 months per year.

What you'll be doing:
- Provide comprehensive support to the project management team for field services operations throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and coordination through to execution and closeout
- Participate in hands‑on hazardous waste operations at customer sites at international locations and across the UK, working directly with materials and equipment in varied field environments
- Conduct thorough inspections of hazardous materials, ensure proper packaging according to regulatory standards, and oversee the safe handling and transportation of hazardous waste in compliance with all relevant regulations
- Participate in site surveys, assist in detailed job estimations and competitive quotations for prospective clients, research and source appropriate equipment, and conduct site visits to assess project requirements
- Take responsibility for ensuring all equipment, plant and systems are properly maintained, serviced and fit for purpose, including implementing preventative maintenance schedules and coordinating repairs
What we're looking for:
- Degree level or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or Chemical Engineering discipline, providing the technical foundation to understand complex waste streams and chemical processes
- Proven experience working within the waste management sector with practical knowledge of waste handling procedures, regulatory frameworks and industry best practices
- Qualified Chemist, Environmental Sciences Operator or Chemical Engineer with hands‑on technical expertise in assessing waste characteristics and determining appropriate treatment methods
- Solid understanding of health and safety principles and regulations, with the ability to conduct risk assessments, implement safety protocols and maintain a culture of safety excellence
- Hazardous waste management qualifications such as ADR or equivalent certifications
- Excellent communication and language skills (French or Spanish desirable)
- Team player and culturally aware
