Fortus Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Working Supervisor on a temp‑to‑perm basis paying £22 to £25 per hour to join a well‑established social housing contractor covering Cambridge and surrounding areas. The role will focus primarily on disrepair, damp and mould projects within occupied and void residential properties. This is a hands‑on supervisory position, ideal for someone with strong trade knowledge who can lead by example while ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervising operatives and subcontractors on disrepair and damp & mould works
  • Carrying out hands‑on duties where required
  • Managing day‑to‑day site operations within social housing properties
  • Ensuring works are completed within agreed timescales and company standards
  • Conducting site inspections and quality checks
  • Liaising with tenants, clients, and management teams professionally
  • Ordering materials and managing site resources effectively
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
  • Reporting progress updates and resolving on‑site issues
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within social housing maintenance or refurbishment
  • Strong background in disrepair and damp & mould works
  • Experience supervising teams and managing workloads
  • Good all‑round trade knowledge (multi‑trade background preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence essential
