I'm working with a fast‑growing, award‑winning consultancy that's looking for a Transport Planner to join their expanding Cambridge team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with at least 2 years' experience in transport planning who wants to develop their skills further while working on a variety of projects in a supportive environment. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career by gaining more responsibility, learning from senior colleagues, and contributing to project delivery across multiple schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of small to medium transport planning projects, supporting senior team members with budget management, scheduling, and coordination
- Prepare and contribute to Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Access Appraisals, and Technical Notes
- Support site visits and provide input to inform scheme development
- Work with tools such as AutoCAD, TRICS and transport modelling software
- Attend project team, client and Local Highway Authority meetings alongside senior colleagues
- Support the preparation of materials for public consultations
- Build relationships with architects, planners and highways officers
- Contribute to fee proposals for smaller projects
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience within transport planning
- Working knowledge of relevant guidance and planning policy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage workload and work collaboratively within a team
- Experience with AutoCAD, TRICS and modelling tools
