MMP Consultancy is seeking x4 Building Surveyors on behalf of a Local Authority in central/south east London to support their expanding housing team. The role will require working 2-3 days per week in the office, with a significant amount of time spent carrying out site visits across the borough. The rate of pay is 43ph (Umbrella). This role has been created due to an expansion of the team and increased demand across housing services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying duties, ensuring properties are safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose.
Responsibilities- Carry out property inspections and site visits across the housing portfolio
- Manage and assess adaptations to meet residents' needs
- Conduct structural surveys and provide technical recommendations
- Investigate and manage complex damp and mould cases
- Prepare reports, specifications, and schedules of work
- Liaise with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure works are delivered in line with quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor within a local authority or housing association
- Strong technical knowledge of residential building defects and maintenance
- Experience dealing with damp & mould, structural issues, and adaptations
- Ability to manage a varied and active workload, including site-based work
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders
