Role Repairs Engineer – contract basis until December 2026.
Location: Filton, 60% onsite
Hours: 35 per week
Hourly Rate: Up to 52 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
Clearance: BPSS required before starting
What you’ll be doing:
- Evaluate daily customer requests regarding structural damage on in-service aircraft.
- Describe all the actions needed to repair aircraft via Structural Repair Instructions.
- Provide Structural Repair Support: Leveraging experience and technical expertise to address complex structural repair matters, devising innovative solutions for both minor and major repairs requested by customers, ensuring high standards of safety and reliability.
- Utilise a deep understanding of historical damage and repair scenarios to investigate and identify similar previous cases, enhancing consistency and efficiency of problem resolution processes.
- Customer and Stakeholder Liaison: Employ communication skills to effectively liaise with internal and external customers & stakeholders.
- Develop Generic Repair Procedures: Assist in creating and refining generic repair procedures based on an in-depth knowledge of recurring structural issues, streamlining repair processes, reducing downtime, and enhancing overall operational efficiency of the Airbus fleet.
- Provide customers with highly efficient and timely structural repair and engineering services, informed by a thorough understanding of fleet operations and structural integrity requirements.
- Engage in Design Organization activities by preparing and releasing critical approval documents, ensuring all structural repairs meet stringent regulatory and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in aircraft structures (preferably Airbus structures); expertise in aircraft structural repair principles (both metallic and composite); in-depth knowledge of metallic and composite materials; familiarity with non-destructive testing methods; knowledge of Airbus drawings & specifications is a plus; A400M or A350 experience; composite repair experience; desirable to hold RTE1, RTE2 or RTE3 delegation.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English.
- IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Airbus IT tools is advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Autonomous and rigorous with strong organizational skills; open-minded, positive thinker, and an excellent team player; strong customer orientation, with the ability to understand and anticipate customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
