We are partnering with a high‑growth professional services firm to appoint an Interim Head of Finance Operations. The role will provide leadership and stability during a transition period, covering a planned retirement and supporting a finance restructure. The assignment lasts six months, starting June 2026, and may extend to a longer‑term position.

- Location: Bristol – minimum 2 days on site per week (preferably 3 days; up to 2 days from home)
- Duration: June 2026 – December 2026 (initially)
- Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 per annum (or equivalent daily rate)
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a finance operations team of 12 (CC, AR, AP)
- Maintain and improve day‑to‑day finance operations
- Ensure robust financial controls, processes, and reporting frameworks are in place
- Support the Finance Director through an active restructuring programme
- Identify and implement process improvements to support scalability
- Build strong relationships across the finance function and wider business
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure team cohesion and engagement
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong finance operations experience and proven track record in fast‑paced, evolving environments
- Experience in senior finance operations or controllership roles
- Exposure to change, transformation or restructuring environments
- Ability to lead teams through periods of change and uncertainty
- Hands‑on, pragmatic approach with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build strong internal relationships
- Collaborative and adaptable style, with a good cultural fit
