On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Technical Writer on an initial 6‑month contract.
Role: Technical Writer
Pay: 45 per hour via umbrella
Location: Filton (60% onsite after training)
Contract: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week, 6 months contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS
Responsibilities:
- Manage all authoring activities related to the AMM and TSM for Landing Gears.
- Analyze inputs (drawings, design modifications) to define the impact on the maintenance manuals delivered to airlines.
- Manage the source data: planning, technical verification, and incorporation.
- Provide answers in the Tech request tool to customer queries and relevant data to meet customer maintenance and operational needs, ensuring information aligns with Airbus policies, processes, and procedures.
- Monitor and steer subcontracted maintenance authoring activities.
- Lead and chair regular review meetings with the Design office and local subcontractors, managing workload and priorities to deliver tasks on time, within cost, and quality targets.
- Deliver documentation content (creation and updates) in accordance with specifications, contractual commitments, approved schedules, quality standards, and budget objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality processes, and technical data guidelines.
- Provide efficient customer support by answering daily queries and implementing documentation changes when necessary.
- Support daily potential in‑service issues and be proactive in cases of aircraft on ground or when airline questions arise.
- Propose continuous improvements for technical data processes, documentation production activities, and IT tools.
- Represent the department at transnational decision‑making meetings and provide feedback on customer needs.
- Achieve Quality Authorisation to verify and validate technical data products in accordance with M20528, also known as C1 Incoming Inspection.
Essential Skills:
- Master's degree or equivalent, preferably in Aerospace Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance, systems, and production processes and procedures.
- Awareness of international authoring standards and tools.
- Experience with aircraft configuration management.
- Dynamic, proactive, and positive mindset.
- Risk and opportunity management skills.
- Ability to follow up on activities.
- Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and assertiveness.
