Location: Alfreton Area

Salary and Benefits: Salary £33,000-£36,000 (DOE) plus three bonus schemes (OTE over £50K). 25 days holiday, no weekends, and great bonus schemes.

Responsibilities:

  • Run a branch of a highly regarded independent builders merchants, focusing on civils/drainage.
  • Oversee all aspects of branch operations and sales, maximizing potential sales and overall profitability.
  • Manage the sales team, motivating and guiding performance.
  • Maintain stock control, negotiate with suppliers and customers, and ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Develop and grow a pipeline of new and existing business.
  • Ensure the branch remains profitable and operates within company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable management or supervisory experience in the builders merchants sector (e.g., supervisor, assistant branch manager, or trade counter manager).
  • Background in construction supply across various sectors (builders, civils, drainage).
  • Operations and sales experience essential.
  • Strong track record in sales, negotiation, and stock control.
  • Ambitious, motivated, methodical, and able to thrive in a 'muck-in' environment rather than a back-office role.
  • Ability to motivate a sales team and drive results.
