Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a forward‑thinking public sector organisation. This is a fantastic chance to develop your career within the public sector, working across a broad range of financial accounting activities while supporting the delivery of high‑quality services to the community.
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial reporting, controls and year‑end processes. Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the preparation of the annual Statement of Accounts and year‑end close
- Producing financial reports, reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
- Assisting with budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning
- Supporting external audit processes and ensuring strong audit trails
- Maintaining and reconciling general ledger and control accounts
- Contributing to the Council's statutory reporting and financial governance
- Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to provide financial advice
Qualifications & Skills
- Ideally part‑qualified (ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA or equivalent)
- Have experience in financial accounting or reporting
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Be confident communicating with non‑finance stakeholders
- Be motivated to develop within a public sector finance environment
