Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a forward‑thinking public sector organisation. This is a fantastic chance to develop your career within the public sector, working across a broad range of financial accounting activities while supporting the delivery of high‑quality services to the community.

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial reporting, controls and year‑end processes. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the preparation of the annual Statement of Accounts and year‑end close
  • Producing financial reports, reconciliations and balance sheet analysis
  • Assisting with budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning
  • Supporting external audit processes and ensuring strong audit trails
  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger and control accounts
  • Contributing to the Council's statutory reporting and financial governance
  • Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to provide financial advice

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ideally part‑qualified (ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA or equivalent)
  • Have experience in financial accounting or reporting
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Be confident communicating with non‑finance stakeholders
  • Be motivated to develop within a public sector finance environment
