We are recruiting for a Skilled Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business operating within a modern, high-precision production environment. This is a structured site with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and team collaboration, producing critical components within a fast-paced setting.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for setting and operating machining equipment within a designated production cell. Working as part of a team, you will ensure machines are set correctly, running efficiently, and meeting production and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate machining equipment for both yourself and other operators within the cell
  • Carry out machining operations to meet production output and delivery targets
  • Identify and report tooling or equipment issues promptly
  • Maintain optimal machine performance and efficiency during production
  • Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards and procedures
  • Support 5S and TPM standards to maintain a clean and organised working environment
  • Assist in reducing scrap and rework through collaboration with quality teams
  • Work closely with manufacturing and maintenance teams to improve processes
  • Support and mentor apprentices and less experienced team members
  • Maintain a professional and proactive approach to work at all times
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and respond to any risks or hazards

About You

  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a machining or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CNC machining or similar production machinery
  • Strong setting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work across departments
  • Ability to support training and development of others
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
