An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assembly Operative to join a busy and well-established engineering and manufacturing environment. This is a temp-to-perm position with immediate starts available, ideal for candidates with mechanical assembly experience looking to secure long-term employment within a growing manufacturing business.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly and testing of a range of mechanical products and sub-assemblies within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building assemblies to specification using engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Using hand tools, air tools, battery-powered tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
  • Checking kits and components prior to assembly and reporting any discrepancies
  • Carrying out basic fault finding, repair and rebuild work when required
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness and housekeeping within the work area
  • Reporting component faults, assembly issues, or production concerns to supervision
  • Working in line with company health & safety and quality procedures

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous assembly or manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Experience using hand and power tools within an engineering environment
  • Able to work efficiently to production deadlines
  • Flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
