We're currently recruiting experienced NCO Gas Layers to join a growing, well-established team delivering critical gas infrastructure projects. Working on behalf of major clients and aligned with industry standards similar to those demonstrated by leading contractors, you'll play a key role in maintaining and upgrading the UK's gas network.

The Role

As an NCO Gas Layer, you will be responsible for safely installing, repairing, and maintaining gas mains and service pipes across a variety of projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Excavation, laying, and backfilling of gas pipelines
  • Installation of PE pipes using electrofusion and butt fusion techniques
  • Live gas works and service connections
  • Working to strict NCO (National Grid/Network Operator) standards
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Supporting reinstatement and site clean-up activities

You will be part of a high-performing team delivering work comparable to that undertaken by our client known for delivering large-scale pipeline infrastructure, utility works, and gas distribution projects across the UK.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Gas Layer or Utility Operative
  • Valid NCO Gas qualifications
  • Streetworks (NRSWA) certification preferred
  • EUSR / SHEA Gas (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of safe excavation and reinstatement
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
