We're recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential home, providing practical and emotional support to young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where no two days are the same and the impact you make is real.
You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team working together to create a safe, caring and homely environment where children and young people are supported to grow, develop and thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing- Working directly with young people across all aspects of daily life, including:
- Supporting personal care, daily living skills, and routines
- Organising and supervising recreational and leisure activities, both in and out of the home
- Supporting attendance at education and, where needed, providing transport
- Acting as keyworker for specific young people, leading on care planning and reviews
- Administering medication when trained and authorised to do so
- Maintaining accurate records and handover documentation
- Building positive relationships with young people, families, social workers and external professionals
- Upholding safeguarding at all times and working in line with relevant policies and legislation
- Contributing to a positive, safe home environment including cooking, household tasks and health and safety monitoring

- Strong communication and listening skills
- A team player with a calm, consistent approach
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field or genuine willingness to work towards one
- Full UK driving licence

- Experience managing challenging behaviour
- Good written skills for record keeping and documentation
- Flexibility around shift patterns
- Solid IT skills
