This is a temporary ongoing position for 6-8 weeks, with the opportunity to go on longer for the right candidate.
You will work Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm. No weekend work or overtime required.
Cherry picker licence is preferred. Parking is available onsite, however the site is not easily accessible by public transport.
THE COMPANY
Westray Recruitment Consultants are currently working with a prestigious company who are looking to recruit a Stores Person based at the Port of Blyth. The role is a great opportunity for candidates looking for temporary work with the potential to be extended.
THE ROLE
- Welcome delivery drivers and ensure parcels are placed correctly in the goods inward area.
- Verify deliveries against notes and purchase orders, accurately recording them in the system.
- Store items in the designated location.
- Assist with scanning and uploading documents onto the system.
- Liaise with engineers when required.
- Fulfil orders for projects by picking and booking out items as requested.
- Maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and safety within the stores area.
- Assist with preparing items for shipping, including picking, packing, and weighing.
- Ensure correct items are booked out and consignment notes are signed correctly.
- Act as a point of contact for engineers and contractors regarding stock queries.
- Conduct regular stock checks as required.
- Ensure proper procedures are followed when handling stock.
- Manual handling will be involved.
- Participate in training and development programmes as required.
- Full training will be provided on internal systems and procedures.
THE CANDIDATE
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, stock control, or goods-in environment would be advantageous.
- Cherry picker licence is required before starting.
- Candidates must have good attention to detail and be able to accurately record information.
- Successful candidates will show a good working attitude and be flexible.
- Must be able to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
- Willingness to undertake additional tasks within capability when required.
THE PACKAGE
- Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm.
