Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands-on expertise across VMware, Citrix, and Linux platforms? Do you have experience supporting secure, enterprise-scale environments?

My central government client is seeking a skilled engineer to support and enhance a range of critical infrastructure platforms across multiple government tiers. This role will involve a blend of BAU support and project delivery, working as part of a wider team responsible for maintaining highly secure, high-availability systems.

You will play a key role in ensuring performance, stability, and security across a diverse technology estate, while contributing to ongoing improvements and platform evolution. This position requires a proactive, technically strong engineer with broad infrastructure knowledge and excellent troubleshooting capability.

Key Responsibilities & Expertise:
  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware (configuration, patching, lifecycle management, NSX awareness)
  • Solid Linux experience (Debian-based systems, scripting, upgrades, migrations, support)
  • Experience supporting Citrix environments (updates, maintenance, migrations)
  • Windows infrastructure knowledge (PKI, Identity & Access Management, RBAC)
  • Exposure to Public and Private Cloud (Azure and/or AWS)
  • Support of BAU operations and project-based deliverables
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers and vendors
  • Strong documentation skills and commitment to knowledge sharing
  • Broad understanding of infrastructure across hardware and software layers

  • Linux (Debian) – 5+ years
  • Citrix – 3+ years
  • Windows Management – 3+ years
  • Cloud (Azure/AWS) – 3+ years
Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications (VMware, Citrix, Linux or Cloud) desirable
