We are working with a specialist environmental engineering organisation delivering water and wastewater treatment solutions across the UK. They are seeking an Electrical Field Engineer to support the installation, commissioning and servicing of specialist treatment equipment across customer sites. You can be based from either Milton Keynes, Coventry or Leicester. This is a practical field based engineering role combining electrical installation, equipment commissioning, fault diagnosis and client support. The work ranges from hands on installation activity through to technical troubleshooting and data analysis when resolving operational issues on site. The position will suit an electrically qualified engineer with experience working in construction or industrial environments who enjoys varied site work, problem solving and working directly with customers. Due to the nature of the role, regular travel and overnight stays during the week will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out installation, commissioning and servicing of specialist treatment equipment at client sites.
  • Prepare and complete equipment installation work incorporating electrical, mechanical and instrumentation elements within limits of competence.
  • Carry out testing and final fit out of equipment during commissioning to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Diagnose equipment issues, analyse site performance and resolve operational faults.
  • Complete documentation relating to installation, testing, commissioning and servicing activities.
  • Undertake proactive visits to client sites to assess maintenance requirements and equipment schedules.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to client personnel operating installed systems.
  • Assist in preparing equipment schedules for hire and sales operations where required.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels within service vehicles and equipment storage areas.
  • Raise requisitions and obtain quotations for required parts, equipment or services.
  • Liaise with operational and sales teams to ensure accurate information flow for projects and product development.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company safety procedures, risk assessments and COSHH requirements.
  • Identify hazards, assess risk and ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
  • ECS Gold Card.
  • Experience working on construction or commercial project sites.
  • Strong electrical installation and fault finding skills.
  • Ability to work across electrical, mechanical and instrumentation elements of equipment within competence limits.
  • Comfortable diagnosing faults and resolving issues in live operational environments.
  • Professional and proactive approach when dealing with customers.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to site issues.
  • Organised and self motivated with the ability to work independently in field environments.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
