Rotating shifts: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, and 10pm - 6am.

Salary: £51,000 per annum.

Our Blackburn based manufacturing client is currently hiring for an experienced Shift Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The Shift Manager is responsible for coordinating operational resources (machines, materials, people, and out of hours engineering) in order to achieve planned targets for production output, product quality, BRC requirements, environment, and health & safety.

Role responsibilities:

  • Accident and incident investigations, being a proactive leader of behavioural safety.
  • Liaise with Quality departments in relation to complaints/internal issues.
  • Ensure staff understand the importance of cost of quality and hygiene.
  • Provide leadership to the shift team/supervisors, appropriate deployment of resources in accordance with production priorities.
  • Complete 1:1's, appraisals, and team meetings in a timely manner.
  • Day-to-day responsibility for the welfare of all shop floor personnel.
  • Attendance management, completing return to work documents, disciplinary and grievance hearings.
  • Delivery of the production plan in a timely manner.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience of leading a production team, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Ability to identify and resolve basic machine-related problems.
  • Demonstrate being H&S competent in a safe working environment.
  • Certificate in leadership management or previous engineering background - desirable.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH trained - desirable.
