The Role
As a General Class TA, you will be an integral part of the Key Stage 1 team. Your mission is to support pupils during their transition from the Foundation Stage into a more formal learning environment, ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Class Teacher in the delivery of the KS1 curriculum
- Leading small group interventions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy
- Working 1:1 with students who require additional guidance to stay on track
- Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Assisting with classroom management and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth school day
The School
You will be joining a friendly, two-form entry school known for its community feel and commitment to staff development. Being a two-form entry school, you will benefit from working alongside experienced partner teachers and TAs, sharing resources and best practices across the year group.
Requirements
- Qualification: Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school setting, ideally in KS1
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar) is highly desirable
- Availability: Ability to work 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) and full employment history
