Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative? Do you drive and have access to your own vehicle? Are you based in or around Llanwern? TATA Steel are looking for a reliable, proactive individual within their Heavy Gauge department. This role requires manual handling and experience within a heavy industry environment. The successful applicant will be someone who is fully flexible to the shift rotation and is eager to learn new skills.

Job Details

  • Location: TATA Steel, Llanwern Works, Newport NP19 4QZ
  • Rate: £12.85ph basic with shift allowance (25%)
  • £16.06ph Overtime available at OT 1.5 and OT 2.0. Call out payment also applies.
  • Contract length: 12 months initially
  • Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours, alternating weeks: Week one X4 12 hour shifts and Week two X3 12 hour shifts

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring material dispatched as per clients request
  • Loading and receiving goods on an inbound and outbound basis

Essential Requirements

  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Previous experience within a Warehouse or Production environment
  • Ability to work as a team-player
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • Able to conduct manual handling duties including bending, lifting bulky items and being on foot for long periods

All applicants are subject to vetting checks including but not limited to: Right to work check, Medical check and reference check. Medical checks are a compulsory part of the role before a start date and can be determined and include a drug and alcohol test.
