VIQU is recruiting a Software Engineer for a growing technology business building cloud-native platforms across AWS, IoT, and AI-powered solutions. The role sits within a small engineering team focused on delivering scalable, serverless systems that connect real-world infrastructure with modern backend services and applications. This is a backend-leaning full stack role, working primarily with TypeScript/Node.js in an AWS environment, with some frontend (React) exposure. You’ll take ownership of features from design through to deployment, working closely with stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain backend services using TypeScript/Node.js
  • Develop within an AWS environment (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB)
  • Contribute to frontend development using React where required
  • Own features end-to-end from design through to deployment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to technical decisions
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and improve system performance and scalability

Key Requirements

  • Experience as a Software Engineer / Full Stack / Backend Engineer
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js experience
  • Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB or similar)
  • Experience building APIs and scalable backend systems
  • Comfortable working across the stack (backend-focused)
  • Experience with CI/CD and Docker

Desirable

  • React and TypeScript frontend experience
  • Serverless or event-driven architecture experience
  • Exposure to Python or Go
  • Interest in AI/LLM tooling or IoT systems
