Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working exclusively with a leading, globally recognised engineering and design consultancy to find an Associate or Associate Director level Architect to join their growing Birmingham studio. The Role

Our client is looking for a confident, technically strong Architect at Associate or Associate Director level, with the experience and ambition to lead projects and teams from the front. You’ll be embedded within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and will play a key role in driving design quality and project delivery across the studio. This is a client facing, job running position that will also include leading a team of your own. Excellent opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate / Associate Director

  • Taking full ownership of architectural projects across all RIBA Stages (0-7), managing design quality and budget.
  • Leading and mentoring project teams, developing talent and maintaining high standards throughout.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat and new business.
  • Producing and reviewing technical deliverables, ensuring coordination across disciplines.
  • Contributing to bids, proposals and client presentations.
  • Driving BIM best practice with Revit as your primary design tool.

Requirements of the Associate or Associate Director

  • ARB-registered Architect with 5-10+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrable experience leading projects through all RIBA stages and managing teams.
  • Sector exposure across Rail, Aviation, Education, Commercial and/or Residential.
  • Strong Revit proficiency and confidence working in a BIM environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of successful client engagement.
  • Highly organised, commercially aware, and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

In return, the Associate / Associate Director will receive:
